What veneers do

Change what people see, keep it natural

Porcelain veneers are thin, custom shells bonded to the front of your teeth. They can cover stains that whitening cannot lift, close small gaps, and even out teeth that are chipped, worn, or a little crooked.

The process starts with an exam and a conversation about what you want to change. Dr. Dennis checks the health of your teeth and gums first, then designs the shape and shade with you. A dental lab makes your veneers, and Dr. Dennis bonds them in place and checks your bite.

Veneers are not the only answer. Sometimes ZOOM teeth whitening, dental bonding, or clear aligners get you there with less treatment. You will hear all of your options. Read common questions.

The process

The Saratoga Smiles veneer process

  1. Consultation and exam

We talk about what you want to change, check your teeth, gums, and bite, and take any images needed. Start with a first visit if you are new.

  2. Your plan and estimate

Dr. Dennis explains your options, including simpler ones, and you receive a written estimate.

  3. Preparing your teeth

A small amount of enamel is usually removed so veneers sit naturally. You leave with temporary veneers while the lab makes yours. This visit typically takes a few hours.

  4. Bonding your veneers

Your veneers are checked for fit and shade, bonded in place, and your bite is adjusted.

  5. Follow-up and care

A follow-up visit checks your gums and bite. Regular cleanings and a night guard, if you grind, help them last.

Who it helps

Is this right for you?

Veneers and smile makeovers may help if you have:

  • Stains that whitening does not remove
  • Chipped, worn, or uneven front teeth
  • Small gaps between front teeth
  • Teeth that look too short or mismatched in shape

They may not be the best first step if you have active decay, gum disease, or heavy grinding. Those are treated first, and the exam tells us which approach fits.

Cost, insurance, and financing

Every smile plan is different, so you receive a written estimate after your exam and before any treatment begins.

Most insurance plans treat veneers as cosmetic. Financing is available through Proceed Finance, Cherry, and CareCredit.

Questions

Have questions about veneers?

What are porcelain veneers?

Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are bonded to the front of your teeth. They change the color, shape, or length of the teeth people see when you smile.

Am I a good candidate for veneers?

Veneers work best on healthy teeth and gums. If you have decay, gum disease, or heavy grinding, those are treated or managed first. Dr. Dennis decides with you after an exam whether veneers, bonding, whitening, or aligners fit your goals better.

What is a smile makeover?

A smile makeover is a plan that combines more than one treatment, such as whitening, veneers, bonding, crowns, or clear aligners, to reach a goal you choose. It is planned as a whole, so each step fits the next.

Is getting veneers painful?

Most patients feel pressure rather than pain. The teeth are numbed when they are prepared, and sedation options can be discussed if you feel anxious.

How long do veneers last?

With good home care and regular checkups, porcelain veneers often last many years, but no restoration lasts forever. Grinding, chewing hard objects, and gum health all affect how long they last.

How many visits does it take?

It typically takes a consultation plus two or more treatment visits, with time in between for the lab to make your veneers. Your exact timeline depends on your plan.

How much do veneers cost?

Cost depends on how many teeth are treated and what else your plan includes. You receive a written estimate before treatment begins. Financing is available through Proceed Finance, Cherry, and CareCredit.

Does insurance cover veneers?

Most dental plans treat veneers as cosmetic and do not cover them. If part of your plan is restorative, some out-of-network benefits may apply. Our team can explain how the claim process works.

What if I change my mind after the consultation?

That is completely fine. The consultation is for information. You decide if and when to move forward.
