Why Wilton Patients Choose Saratoga Smiles

Wilton has plenty of dental options closer to home, including the chain offices near the Wilton Mall and Saratoga Hospital. So when Wilton residents drive a few extra minutes south into downtown Saratoga Springs to see us, there is usually a specific reason. The most common ones we hear:

  • Tired of insurance-driven treatment. Patients who have had filling-after-filling or aggressive crown recommendations elsewhere come to us for a more conservative second opinion. We tell you honestly when something can wait and when it cannot.
  • Looking for one dentist for the whole family. Many of our Wilton families started with one adult patient and ended up with parents, kids, and grandparents all on the schedule. Dr. Dennis is comfortable with patients of any age.
  • Considering implants, cosmetic work, or a complex case. For higher-stakes treatment, patients want unhurried planning, premium materials, and a doctor who handles the case from start to finish. That is exactly what fee-for-service practice allows us to offer.
  • Recommended by a friend or family member already with us. About half of our new Wilton patients come on a personal referral. That is the most honest review we get.

Conservative, Fee-for-Service Dental Care

The biggest single reason Wilton families drive to us instead of staying closer to home is the way we practice. We do not chase insurance reimbursement, and we do not recommend treatment that is not clinically necessary. Our first question is always whether a procedure should be done now, whether it could wait, and whether a less invasive approach would actually serve the patient better.

A Wilton resident we will call Susan came in last winter for a second opinion. Her previous dentist had recommended four crowns and a root canal at a single appointment. After a thorough exam and a 3D scan, we found that two of the four teeth genuinely needed crowns (one had a deep crack), and the other two had older fillings that were intact and stable. The root canal was needed but only on one tooth, not as part of a larger plan. Total treatment that we recommended: about half of what she had been quoted, with the rest re-evaluated at her next 6-month exam.

That is the value of conservative second opinions. And it is what makes the 10-minute drive from Wilton worthwhile for patients who want a doctor who genuinely tries to save natural teeth first. Meet Dr. Dennis to learn more about our approach.

Yes, we welcome new patients of all ages from Wilton and the surrounding Saratoga County communities. Your first visit includes a thorough exam, a 3D scan if appropriate, and an honest conversation about any treatment that may be needed. There is no expectation that you make a decision on the spot.

We are a fee-for-service practice, which means we do not participate as in-network with any specific insurance plan. We do file claims on your behalf with most insurance companies, and most of our patients receive reimbursement directly for a portion of their treatment. FSA, HSA, and CareCredit financing are also widely accepted. Our front desk team is happy to walk through your specific coverage during a consultation. For details, see our financial information page.

We hold same-day slots for dental emergencies including broken teeth, lost crowns, and severe pain. Call us at (518) 584-5060 as early in the day as possible. For broken-tooth situations, see our guide on missing or broken teeth in Saratoga Springs.

Yes. Many of our Wilton patient families have parents, children, and grandparents all on the same practice. Dr. Dennis is comfortable seeing patients from school age through retirement. We coordinate appointments so families can come in together when possible.

Yes. We offer oral sedation (a small pill before the appointment) and IV sedation for longer procedures. Many Wilton patients who have avoided the dentist for years find sedation a comfortable way to catch up on overdue care without the anxiety. See our sedation dentistry page for details.

For new-patient comprehensive exams, we generally schedule 2 to 4 weeks out. Routine cleaning appointments are typically available within 2 to 3 weeks. Emergency visits for broken teeth or severe pain are usually same-day. Implant consultations can often be scheduled within a week.

Many Wilton patients come to us specifically for second opinions. We are comfortable being the second voice on any treatment recommendation. If we agree with the original recommendation, we will tell you. If we see a less invasive option, we will recommend that. There is no pressure to switch practices unless you want to.
